The Multipitch Sector is the cornerstone of KSCC's outdoor education programme. Its three 2-pitch routes span the full spectrum of introductory-to-intermediate multi-pitch skills: the first route is almost a walking pace for experienced climbers, used primarily for demonstrating natural anchor systems; the second route introduces the complexity of crack climbing with the security of a bolted backup; and the third route — Balaju Ridge — is a genuine adventure that has turned many gym climbers into lifetime outdoor climbers. The sectors' grades look modest but the experience is not: real exposure, real decision-making, and the satisfaction of completing something with only your team's skill between you and the ground. Route-finding is part of every outing here — the walls are not manicured and reading the rock is an essential skill that KSCC instructors actively teach.
