Main Crag

Main Crag is KSCC's flagship outdoor teaching venue — a 25-metre south-facing limestone wall where the city noise fades and the forest takes over. The crag is reached by a gentle 10-minute trail through Nagarjun Forest Reserve's dense sal and pine, with occasional sightings of Himalayan birds overhead. The wall itself is perfectly oriented: sun from mid-morning to late afternoon, warm even in winter. Holds are well-featured — positive edges, rails, and pockets — making this an ideal venue for outdoor debuts. All 15 routes are permanently bolted with stainless hardware, and our KSCC instructors use Main Crag as the primary teaching venue for outdoor lead technique. It's also a popular local climbing spot on weekends, which adds to the atmosphere.
