Gham Chhaya

Gham Chhaya translates as 'Sun and Shadow' — named for the dramatic interplay of light across its 130-metre limestone face as the day progresses. This is a committing, full-day route that demands competence in multi-pitch techniques: anchor building, rope management on ledges, efficient communication across exposed stances, and the mental fortitude to keep moving through sustained sections above real exposure. The first ascent was completed by KSCC's lead guides with the Kathmandu climbing community and took two seasons to fully bolt. Each pitch is a distinct character — from the opening slab through technical face climbing to the crux overhang of pitch 5 and the expansive summit mantle. The descent is a 4-abseils sequence on fixed anchors back to the base. Allow 6–8 hours car-to-car.
